1. We closely relate aperture with our eyes
2. The smaller the aperture the sharper it is but the less light goes through. The higher the aperture the fuzzier it gets and the more light it lets through.
3. The larger the aperture the more you are going to get a background so if you wanted the background to be fuzzy than you would want a smaller aperture.

2. You can yous a longer shutter speed to make up for the fact that you are using a lower IOS
3. use it when you can't get a good sharp bright image with a low IOS
