Self-portrait VS selfie

there are a lot of differences and similarities between Self-portrait and selfies. they are both photos of yourself. they are both taken by the person in the photo and they both are taken to show people something. 

One of the differences between self-portraits and selves is that I selfie usually cares a lot less meaning behind it than self-portraits do. Selfies are usually taken to show where a person is or who they are with. To show people how you look like today or what you are doing. The difference is that self-portraits carry more of an idea or meaning some inspiration behind them. They are less about capturing the moment that showing emotion.

Another difference between the to is the planning.  say you want to tack a selfie. All you have to do is tack out your phone and smile. The difference is that a self-portrait tacks a lot of planning and preparation. you have to have a plan and know what you want to do.
